Captain Jonathan Olsen
Minnesota State Patrol

Captain Jon Olsen has been with the Minnesota State Patrol since 2004. After graduating from the State Patrol academy, he spent the first six years of his career working in various patrol districts as a road trooper, including the Marshall District located in southwest Minnesota, and the St. Paul metropolitan area. Captain Olsen served two years as a Field Lieutenant for the East Metro Patrol District and two years as an Administrative Lieutenant responsible for overseeing the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s Motor Carrier Safety grant program for Minnesota. In 2015, he was promoted to his current rank of Captain and is responsible for overseeing all activities related to commercial vehicle enforcement for the state of Minnesota. Captain Olsen has a bachelor’s degree in Law Enforcement and Psychology from Minnesota State University, Mankato.
