Emily Crane
Vice President, Safety & Engagement, Georgia Motor Trucking Association

Emily Crane’s time with GTA began as a summer intern in 2005, marking the start of a career driven by a passion for safety and a commitment to excellence. Over the years, Emily has seamlessly transitioned through various roles within the association, demonstrating her dedication and passion for the industry. Before joining GMTA, Emily managed a flower and interior design shop in Roswell, GA, and her own cake decorating business, where she honed her leadership skills and attention to detail.

Emily is the driving force behind GTA’s safety initiatives, spearheading efforts to ensure members have the most up-to-date safety resources and training opportunities. She also collaborates with state and federal partners to strengthen safety measures across the industry, a testament to her leadership and commitment to safety.

In addition to leading GTA’s safety and education initiatives, Emily oversees the association’s marketing and engagement efforts, working to enhance connections with members, the public, and the broader industry. Her role includes event planning, strategic communications, and outreach, all aimed at delivering value through education, advocacy, and industry events.

Outside of GTA, Emily and her husband Phillip, a middle school counselor and professional race-car driver, are on the leadership team for DriveStrong, a non-profit advanced driving education program. This initiative reflects Emily’s commitment to promoting safety beyond her professional life. She holds a B.S. in Communications from Kennesaw State University with an emphasis in Public Relations and Professional Politics. Emily and Phillip share their home with their two beloved rescue Boston Terrier sisters, Ollie Mae and Tessa Grace. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, tackling too many DIY projects, and cheering on Phillip at the racetrack.
