Workplace violence, more specifically, active shooter events have tragically become a daily occurrence. These incidents have become so commonplace that some of the events don’t receive news coverage. As a society, we have become numb to the problem and as an employer, it becomes all to easy to adopt the position “it will never happen here”; until it does happen here.

In order to mitigate the impact and preserve life and livelihoods, you need to recognize that the remedy is multi-faceted. It includes knowledge and resources and requires that you know where to get both. It requires an informed proactive approach.

By the end of Dan’s presentation, you will understand the magnitude of violence in the workplace. You will recognize the impacts that are frequently overlooked. You will know who is coming to save you if you find yourself in the middle of such an event. You will leave feeling EMPOWERED as an individual and recognize your responsibilities as an employer. You will understand that what you don’t know actually CAN kill you!
